Description

The ACL-8454 is a general purpose timer/counter and digital I/O card for IBM PC/AT or compatibles. It used the most popular 82C54 timer/counter chip to event counting, pulse measurement, frequency measurement, and pulse generation. In addition, 8 digital outputs and up to 16 digital inputs are 7supported in this card.

In ACL-8454, default two 84C54 chips on board and up to four 84C54 can be supported. It provides at least six or at most twelve 16-bit down counter, each counter can be configured as different clock sources and gate controls by the jumper selection. In addition, two set of time pacer generation unit, which cascades two 16-bit counter for interrupt source.

An AT interrupts (IRQ3 ~ IRQ15) are supported by the ACL-8454, and both internal and external interrupt source can be selectable by using jumper settings. Up to two set of time pacer can be generated by two cascaded 16-bit counter, which can be used as internal interrupt source.

Software

The ACL-8454 is supported by a set of drivers and examples, the standard software includes a C function library.

An extensive library of functions are available that support Microsoft C(6.0 and 7.0) and Borland C/C++(4.0). In additions, many example programs are included to demonstrate how to write C program for ACL-8454.
