Description

The PIA-430 is designed to bring today's high performance PCI bus capabilities to a cost/effective 486-based card. The surface mount Am5x86-133, a high performance 486, 32 bit CPU, easily achieves a performance equal to a Pentium 75. With its low power specification the Am5x86-133 is excellently suited for high performance embedded applications. An onboard PCI SVGA controller supports up 1024 X 768 resolution on CRT and Flat Panel displays.

Enhanced IDE, High-speed I/O
The card's PCI Enhanced IDE controller supports mode 4 HDD operation and allows connection of drive sizes up to 8.4 GB. Besides HDD drives, the EIDE interface supports connection of other ATAPI IDE devices such as CDROMs, tape drives, optical drives, etc. In addition, the PIA-410 has 2 RS-232 ports with 16C550 and 16-Byte FIFO and one bidirectional printer port that supports SPP, ECP and EPP modes.

Flat Panel/CRT SVGA
The PIA-430 includes a CHIPS® 65550 SVGA controller that supports CRT and LCD panels simultaneously.

Watchdog Timer
The onboard Watchdog Timer can invoke an interrupt or reset the CPU when your application loses control over the system.

Low Power / Cost-Effective
With its low power embedded CPU, the PIA-430 can operate continuously at temperatures up to 60°C. Its features provide an ideal price/performance solution for commercial and industrial applications where speed, stability and reliability are essential.
